We couldn’t be happier about our new line-up of games.  Firenze is an amazingly deep game with a quick playtime and great mechanics from the designer of Andreas Steding (designer of  Hansa Teutonica).  Yedo is a great worker placement game that Tom Vasel has named one of his top 10 workers placement games of all time and said of the game “If you played Lords of Waterdeep but found it wanting, this takes it up a notch”.  New Amsterdam is also a great game that Drive-Thru reviews has placed on their top 5 games of 2013 that is an amazingly tight Euro with a playtime of 60 minutes.

Pandasaurus Games is proud to announce that we will be bringing the excellent board game Yedo, from Eggertspeile, to the North American markets.

Yedo is an extremely well balanced, deep game set in feudal Yedo, Japan (modern day Tokyo).  The players are each the leader of a clan that takes on various missions in order to gain favor with the new Shogun.  These missions types include espionage, kidnapping and even assassination.  To complete these missions you will need to place clan members into different parts of the city and collect the resources needed to complete them.

“Yedo is a game I fell in love with as soon as I laid eyes on it.  The game is a tightly balanced strategic game with tense decision making and high player interaction.  Obviously Eggertspiele is on a roll lately, and this latest game combines all of the best parts of great games like Princes of Florence and Lords of Waterdeep, with a theme that drips from the box.  It hasn’t reached a lot of players in the English speaking world, but with an average review score of 7.72 on BGG, it has clearly resonated with the 200+ players who have gotten their hands on it” – Nathan McNair, President of Pandasaurus Games.

The game is highly interactive amongst players, and has a theme that is so well integrated with the mechanics that you could easily confuse it with a thematic game.  As Tom Vasel, of the dice tower,  said “I LOVE this game.  I was so happy to play this. […] Love the artwork, love the theme.  This is really a heavy souped up Lords of Waterdeep.  If you played Lords of Waterdeep but found it wanting, this takes it up a notch.  If you’ve never played Lords of Waterdeep, but love the Samurai theme and worker placement, I think you will really enjoy this one.  It is one I am going to keep, it’s a game I was really enamored with for a number of reasons.  Yedo.”.

Pandasaurus Games is also very happy to announce Yedo will be exclusively available in the North American markets from Southern Hobby Supply distributors.  This was a decision that we felt made perfect sense and will allow our company to better manage the logistics of our first project going directly to retail.

We will kidnap those who might oppose our ascent and assassinate those who prove a threat. We will use cunning to prevent our adversaries from doing the same to us.
