Fadenfroh board game box with embroidery-style art of a summer garden

Fadenfroh is a cozy card game about stitching a summer garden, and it's the first game Alexander Pfister and Jordy Adan have designed together. We're ecstatic to be able to bring it to game tables worldwide in partnership with 1 More Time Games. It's releasing November 11, but will be debuting at SPIEL Essen later this month!

What is Fadenfroh about?

Make a warm drink and get comfortable. In Fadenfroh, you're stitching a memory of a summer garden into an embroidery, filling it with bright fabrics, ripe berries, curious little critters, and flowers in full bloom.
Julia Beutling's illustrations look like real needlework, so the table fills with color as everyone's embroidery takes shape. Thread tokens, needles, and a little metal thimble round out the feel. It's a calm, pretty game with real decisions underneath.

How to play Fadenfroh

On each turn, you gather thread and needles from a shared market or grab the fabric you've had your eye on. The longer you wait, the better your chances someone else takes it first.

  1. Gather materials. Take thread and needles from the market to build up what you need.
  2. Claim your fabric. When the timing feels right, take the fabric cards you want before another player does.
  3. Layer your rows. Overlap fabric cards across three rows to line up colors, berries, animals, and flowers.
  4. Chase the goals. Scoring goals change every round, so you're always weighing a long plan against a quick switch

After five rounds, the player with the most points wins. A solo mode is included, so you can stitch on your own too!

Meet the designers

Alexander Pfister designed Great Western Trail and is a two-time Kennerspiel des Jahres winner, for Broom Service and Isle of Skye.

Jordy Adan designed Cartographers, the flip-and-draw game about mapping a kingdom that has brought players of all different levels to the game table.

Fadenfroh is their first collaboration. It pairs Pfister's knack for tight, satisfying choices with Adan's love of building something beautiful one turn at a time.
