Moustache: A Trick-Taking Game That Keeps You Guessing

Moustache: A Trick-Taking Game That Keeps You Guessing

Written by Rainalyn Huang

Somewhere out there, a group of animals with truly magnificent moustaches are competing for glory. There's a walrus. A hamster. A pig. A unicorn. A pigeon who will absolutely ruin your plans. The vibe is chaotic, joyful, and just a little unhinged... which exactly the way a great game night should be.

We're partnering with Lumberjack Studios to bring Moustache to the US, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa this September!

How it plays

Moustache is a trick-taking game for 3–6 players that plays in about 20 minutes. At the start of each round, team cards are randomly dealt. Then you'll play tricks, trying to win cards and rack up stars for your team.

Cards are ranked first by color (green is weakest, then pink, then orange, then blue) and then by value. Follow the leading color if you can, but if you can't then you may play any color.

Here's the twist: the game comes with a deck of rule cards, and each round, a new one is revealed and added to the mix. By round four, you might be playing with reversed color rankings, cards that cancel each other out, or a rule that forces your lowest value to win instead of your highest. The rules stack, and so does the chaos!

At the end of four rounds, players flip over their trophy tokens and tally up their points. The winner is the person who played smartest across all four rounds—even if their team changed every time.

Moustache is hitting retail shelves on September 16, 2026*. Preorder your copy now!
