Dig deep, trust no one

Everyone gets a secret role. The gold miners are building a tunnel from the start card toward the treasure. The saboteurs are doing everything they can to make sure that tunnel goes nowhere, and they are sitting right there at the table acting helpful.

You play a path card, or you break someone's lantern so they can't dig, or you drop a rockfall on a tunnel that was getting a little too close. Nobody can prove anything. Everybody has a theory. Every round ends with at least one person yelling "I KNEW it was you!"
